Describe current and past community involvement:  As a wife and mother of 2, her involvement has been centered around her family and getting involved where they spend their time. She volunteered time at Fort Meigs Elementary School in a variety of roles throughout her kids’ time there, coordinated and volunteered for classroom parties, room mom, copy mom, fundraisers and more. With two kids in travel soccer, she managed each of their travel soccer teams for a total of 4 years (Perrysburg Soccer Club and GTFC). Angela actively attends Cedar Creek Church and served in the kids’ area for about 2 years. She is also currently involved with the Perrysburg Jr. High with the parent organization and on the committee for the Annual Craft Show fundraiser.

Financial Oversight Experience: As a Property Manager (and only office employee) of a 120 unit property, she was solely responsible for determining rents and increasing as the market changed; collecting, recording and depositing rent monthly; posting late fees and collections; managing a P&L for the property; monthly budgeting to determine repairs needed to get apartments rent-ready and stay within budget.

Government Affairs Experience:  N/A

Communications Experience:  Communication has played a role in every position Angela has ever had. For 10+ years she held many positions in the recruiting industry. On a daily basis, she had to communicate with a variety of people, both clients, and employees, from the basic entry-level position to executive levels. Angela set clear expectations to employees as well as to supervisors and management on positions and qualifications. In Property Management, she had to communicate property rules, landlord expectations, and rent changes when necessary. Angela believes being an effective communicator was essential in all these roles as it is now in real estate. Explaining the home buying/selling process and getting her clients to understand what’s to come was essential to reduce stress and keep everyone on the same page.

Strategic Planning Experience:   During the 2018-2019 Leadership Academy, she was able to attend and participate in the TRAR Board Strategic Planning session. She considers it an honor to have participated and values learning how and why strategic planning is important and how she can learn to work together by listening to other’s ideas and as a team to work together.

Technology Experience: Angela uses technology every day and embraces it. As a new licensee, she jumped right into learning dotloop and the MLS, in addition, the other TRAR programs that are offered. She was immediately using Forewarn when it was launched as well. She is always trying to challenge herself to learn new industry apps and programs to stay on top of what’s next.

Real Estate Trends Experience: Angela understands that keeping your finger on the pulse when it comes to real estate trends is vital to know what’s coming and how your business is impacted. She has found that in addition to the traditional media outlets is also important to attend industry conferences. She has attended the OAR Convention the last 2 years plus the RE/MAX National Convention last year. Any chance she has to learn about new topics or trends, she is eager to show up.

Leadership Experience:  In 2018 she was the TRAR TLT (Tomorrow’s Leaders Today) Recipient and Completed the 2018-2019 Inaugural TRAR Leadership Academy. Beyond this experience she has been in management positions that require to be a leader and a mentor for employees in both her Property Management and Recruiting positions.

Why does Angela wish to be a Director: After being nominated for TRAR’s Tomorrow’s Leader Today in 2018 and attending the OAR Convention, she was able to meet industry leaders and see “behind the scenes” of what our industry is about. This is when she realized the power of RPAC and how she can do more than help people buy and sell houses. She realized that Realtors have the ability to really shape their community. Then after completing the Leadership Academy, this insight grew as Angela participated in the Strategic Planning session and the leadership program. She was able to see first-hand at the OAR Directors meeting the impact that they can have, not only at the local level but also at a State level. She is fascinated with the industry and the intricacies of the rules and policies. She would be honored and excited to be a part of this locally. Angela once heard a quote that stuck with her. “Leaders become great not because of their power but, because of their ability to empower others.” -John Maxwell. She has always had a desire to help others, it’s in the fabric of who she is and to be a part of something that is greater than herself gets her excited. Angela would love a chance to get involved in designing and shaping the future policies and direction for our industry and her community. She would love to have the opportunity to learn and exchange ideas from others and to give back to an industry that she loves, would absolutely be amazing.

Voting will be available for all REALTOR Members starting Monday, December 9, 2019 through Friday, December 13, 2019.
